business is owned & operated by Evelyn 'Rusty' Hobbs; and officially
opened doors in 1997. Carousel Farm specializes in the
breeding of Dutch Warmblood ‘Sport Horses’. Horses that
are athletic in style & conformation
with the breeding to perform competitively at all equestrian
sports; e.g., dressage, jumping, eventing. With fresh & frozen
semen availability, access to nationally & internationally recognized
stallions is limitless. Mares are bred to stallions with a focus
on a KWPN
breeding standard that constantly evolves. The standard
defines the qualities of the ideal 'modern' sport horse.
Carousel Farm has earned some modest success having bred 100% premium grade horses
since 1997;
several having received national recognition. Good research,
knowledge of influential bloodlines, tools and industry trends
have all contributed to our breeding successes.
Business Philosophy
Our approach to the business at
Carousel Farm is simple but distinguishable. Carousel Farm is
a firm believer in 'Quality In & Quality Out'. Respect for
the animal is at the core of our business beliefs. Being a
small breeding operation, we raise a limited number of foals
per year which allows our personal involvement in every aspect
of their daily activities and training. All foals are
imprinted at birth, handled daily and begin a comprehensive
training program. Purina Mills provides the sound nutritional
plan and, with good veterinary care, foals leave our barn
healthy, happy, vice-free and capable of beginning a
productive sport or pleasure career.
